What is the research about?
The ways Reception-year children access, experience and achieve in the Reception Baseline Assessment (RBA) and the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) in the school years 2022/2023 and 2023/2024.
How summer-born children experience these assessment compared to older children.
Understanding teacher perspectives on effective Early Years pedagogy.
What will the research involve?
Online surveys with Reception teachers and teaching assistants in Autumn 2022 and 2023.
Analysis of policy documents and statutory guidance.
Secondary data analysis of EYFS Profile data from Summer 2023.
